Steve Evans
Steve’s Broadcast Career began in 1985. He has experience working in markets like Salt Lake City, Springfield Mo, Albuquerque N.M., Wichita Ks, and Saint George Utah. Since 1994 Steve has raised a family and lived in Vernal and is proud to call North Eastern Utah home. A Regan Republican since 1980, Steve is a champion of conservative values both social and political. Holding firm to these values in business has been a philosophy that has served KVEL and the communities it serves well. Weekday mornings with co-host Lincoln Brown from 6 to 8 on AM 920 KVEL.

Lincoln Brown
Lincoln Brown has been a resident of Vernal for 17 years, and started at KVEL as the weekend-overnight disc jockey, when the station was playing AM Gold. He has Bachelor’s Degree in Religion and at one time wanted to become an Episcopal Priest. Although you wouldn’t know it by listening to him, Lincoln was once a devout liberal. Lincoln hosts the Morning Show on KVEL with Steve Evans, and hosts the Lincoln Brown show from 8 to 9 every weekday morning. Lincoln lives in Vernal with his wife, Ellen, who is nurse and professional photographer, and with a dog named Jo Jo who he thinks may be part coyote.

Joni Crane
Morning News co-host Joni Crane is actively
involved in almost every aspect of life in
the Uintah Basin. She has served politically
on the Utah State Republican Party Executive
Committee & as the Uintah County Republican
Party Chairman. Her experience in Washington
DC working for the Illinois Congressional Delegation
at U.S. Capitol gives her a unique political
perspective. Joni is an LDS wife & mother
of three, She has been a guest on Oprah Winfrey's
Show, is an award winning Loudoun County, Virginia
historian, a producer of documentaries on the
History Channel and a former TV & print
news reporter. She currently serves as a Boy
Scout leader, Maeser Elementary Community Council
Member, Legislative Chair to the Vernal Area
Chamber of Commerce and Community Emergency
Response Team member. Surprisingly she also
works for Get Me Out Bail Bonds as an agent
helping families & individuals to get their
lives on the right track. |

A lifelong Basin resident, Myke Hall is the local authority on the great outdoors and rich history of the Uintah Basin. A renowned artist, and long time veteran of the air waves, Myke’s voice has been a familiar one to KVEL listeners for years. From tying a fly, to the best places to hike camp and hunt, the man to ask is Myke Hall. And no one is better versed in the history of the Uintah Basin and Myke. From dinosaurs to mountain men, and from the Wild Bunch to the 19th century, Myke can relate the history of our areas as if he has lived it himself. Myke hosts The Outdoor Lifestyle Report, Fishin’ With Myke Hall and Myke Hall’s Local History Moment on KVEL.

Kristin
Baldwin
Kristin never planned to work in news radio
but has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the
news team at KVEL. Her love of literature and
writing developed in high school which led her
to study English Literature and Technical Writing
at BYU. She received her BA in English from BYU
in 2005 and studied at UVU in Orem for 2 semesters
to become a Certified Technical Writer in 2006.
Two months after completion she began her dream
job of being a stay-at-home mom. While Kristin
had never heard of Vernal, she was excited when
Brian took a job in the area in 2007. As mother
of 2 energetic kids, she began writing from home
for the KVEL news team in 2011 and considers
it the perfect fit as a full time mom and part
time writer. |
